Committees
"A Great way to become involved in the Chamber of Commerce is to join a Chamber Committee”
By joining a Chamber of Commerce Committee, you are giving yourself the opportunity to become directly involved with the events taking place in the community. You will also be working with other active chamber members, getting to know them and networking with them, as well as being a visible representative for your business.
Executive Committee (Appointed from Board)
This committed is made up of Nine members of the Board of Directors to make up the Executive Committee. They meet each month to create and administrate Board/Chamber policy and direction.
Board of Directors (Elected)
Made up of Chamber members who are elected to 3-year terms. Elections are held each March with the board serving during the fiscal year.
Ambassadors (Invited)
The Ambassadors are the public relations group of the Chamber. Currently made up of twenty members, the ambassadors appear at every Chamber function to welcome guests and attend Chamber member ribbon cuttings. They serve as the Chamber’s “Goodwill Ambassadors”.
Economic Development
Promotes economic development and well being in Escondido. Reviews legislative activities on state and federal levels.
Member Services Committee
Arranges continuity of benefits and services to the membership and promotes retention of members. The committee works with introducing new members to the Chamber and its many varied services and also works to create effective communication between the Chamber and the community.
Mixer Committee
The “Business After 5” Mixer committee produces the monthly mixers (held the second Thursday of each month) at various Escondido area businesses. The event is the Chamber’s main monthly networking event.
Street Faire Committee
Produces and oversees two major Street Faires each year, held on the third Sunday of May and October. Each Street Faire attracts over 60,000 attendees making the second largest single day Street Faires in California. The Escondido Chamber of Commerce invites all of its members to get involves and join a committee.
Government Affairs Committee
The mission of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee is to supplement the work of Chamber staff in the monitoring and influencing of governmental decisions on behalf of the interests of members of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce.
